HEN has long worked to found a community garden in Herndon. The effort is ongoing, but we need your help. The garden location will be Bruin Park (415 Van Buren Street), which is owned by the Town and managed by Fairfax County. The Master Plan for Bruin Park has been amended to include a community garden.
We need your help with fundraising for the Community Garden project! The total project estimate is $42,000:
Mail a check made payable to "Herndon Environmental Network", at PO BOX 1704, Herndon, VA, 20170 (put community garden in the memo line)
Select Herndon Environmental Network as your preferred charity when you shop through Amazon Smile (0.5% of any qualified purchases will be donated to HEN). We encourage responsible and environmentally conscious purchases.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so your donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. If you would like to put your networking and fundraising skills to work, we'd be happy for you to join our volunteer outreach team. We are looking for individuals with a desire to help with raising funds for the Community Garden by visiting local businesses and gauging their interest in supporting this project! Contact us at email@example.com for more details on how you can get involved.
Herndon Environmental Network has been awarded a grant by Fairfax County to help make the Bruin Park Garden a reality!
